Scientists stunned as chimpanzees turn on friends in killing spree

Researchers reported a lethal split among Uganda's Ngogo chimpanzees, marking the first documented case of co-ordinated attacks between factions. The violence has resulted in 28 deaths, including adult males and infants, as the Western group targets the Central group since 2018. Conflicting social dynamics and competition over resources are believed to have fueled the violent fractures.
