‘We are one family’: Jewish friends help Muslim refugees call Australia home

In June 2025, Muslim refugees Naima and her son Feisal arrived in Melbourne, supported by a Jewish friendship group called Hope for Eden. The group had been matched with them through Australia’s Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot to help with resettlement services. Naima expressed relief, stating, “I finally felt like no one was going to hurt me.”.
