Colombia plans to euthanise Pablo Escobar’s famous ‘cocaine hippos’
Colombia has authorized a cull of up to 80 of Pablo Escobar’s 'cocaine hippos' to address environmental concerns as the population threatens local communities. Environment Minister Irene Velez warned that previous sterilization efforts have failed, stating, 'If we don’t do this we will not be able to control the population.' The hippos are now estimated at around 170.
