How the metro killed a Sydney shopping centre
Cobbler Joe Panarello reported a 50 percent drop in customers at his North Sydney shop since the opening of the new metro line in 2024. Greenwood Plaza, once bustling, now has only 45 occupied shopfronts out of 60, as foot traffic declines drastically. North Sydney Mayor Zoe Baker proposed creative solutions to revive interest in the shopping center.
