Michael Pezzullo dismissed after inquiry finds 14 breaches of conduct

A confidential report revealed that Michael Pezzullo, former head of the Department of Home Affairs, was ‘reckless’ in his dealings with Liberal powerbroker Scott Briggs. The inquiry found Pezzullo breached the government's code of conduct at least 14 times, including using his position for personal gain. He was dismissed in November 2023 as a result of these findings.
