NewFest launches Pride month with RuPaul comedy and Araki film
NewFest, New York City's LGBTQ film festival, kicks off Pride month May 28-June 1 with "Heated Rivalry," RuPaul's comedy "Stop! That! Train!" and Gregg Araki's "I Want Your Sex" headlining the program. The five-day festival runs at SVA Theatre with virtual options. Executive director David Hatkoff said the lineup captures NewFest's tradition at the intersection of celebration and activism.
