A study published this week reveals wild chimpanzees in Uganda engaged in coordinated attacks, leading to what researchers call a ‘civil war’ within their group. Between 2015 and 2022, the western chimps executed 24 attacks on the central group, resulting in the deaths of at least seven adult males and 17 infants.
