Blockx rocking to beat champion Ruud and reach Madrid Open semi-finals
Alexander Blockx beat defending champion Casper Ruud 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday to reach the Madrid Open semi-finals. The 21-year-old Belgian, ranked 69th, became the fourth lowest-ranked player to reach the men's last four in Madrid. Blockx had not won an ATP Tour match on clay before Monte Carlo three weeks.
