Johnston echoes Merritt’s brilliance as Rabbitohs pay tribute to cancer-stricken club great

Alex Johnston led a tribute to Nathan Merritt during the Rabbitohs' 32-24 win over Canterbury on Good Friday. Merritt, 42, recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, rang the Legacy Bell in a heartfelt pre-game ceremony in front of 49,813 fans. Johnston's 90-metre try added to his record, further honoring the club great's legacy.
