‘He snapped’: Accused killer to stand trial after friend reveals text messages
Keith Lees, 73, was committed to trial Thursday in Queensland for allegedly murdering his girlfriend Meaghan Louise Rose, whose body was found at a beach cliff in 1997. A witness testified Lees told her he "snapped" during recent conversations and admitted police could "get him for" something. Rose's death was initially ruled suicide until cold case detectives reopened the investigation.
