Hoda Elabady, 39, faced the NSW District Court on Wednesday for attempting to drown two young girls in the Georges River in September 2023. Due to severe mental illness, including schizophrenia and acute psychosis, she was found not criminally responsible despite her actions. A passer-by rescued the girls after they struggled in the water for two hours.
