Slime Sequel Releases With Gobta Romance But Shallow Underwater Storyline
The second "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" film, "Tears of the Azure Sea," released theatrically, focuses on goblin character Gobta's romance with ocean princess Yura. Director Yasuhito Kikuchi delivers competent animation and aquatic action sequences, but the generic plot about Yura fleeing underwater court enemies offers little substance beyond franchise fan service.
