Aboriginal elder's mission to get stolen artefact back after 70 years
Bundjalung elder Aunty Ros Sten is urging the return of an Aboriginal breastplate stolen from Lismore Museum around 1965. The breastplate, given to her ancestor Jack Kapeen in 1865, was sold at auction in 2011 for $3,360. Aunty Ros has campaigned for its return to recognize Aboriginal history and culture.
