This generation now owns almost a third of all rental properties
Boomers now own nearly a third of Australia's rental properties, with over-60s accounting for 27.5 percent of 2.3 million landlords. Negative gearing changes proposed by the government could impact young 'rentvestors,' as total rentals held by those under 30 increased to 100,168. Despite tax losses of $16 billion, landlords collected a record $61.4 billion in rents.
