Former NSW minister Eddie Obeid escaped prosecution over a corrupt water deal after charges were dropped just before his trial on April 28. The Independent Commission Against Corruption found the deal corrupt, but Obeid, 82, will not face misconduct charges linked to his alleged concealment of financial interests. Obeid had previously served time for a different corruption charge.
