Labor MPs urge redesign of NDIS to address budget and participant pressures

Two Labor MPs, Michelle Ananda-Rajah and Mike Freelander, called for a redesign of the National Disability Insurance Scheme on Monday, warning that public support may wane. They noted that over 310,000 participants classified as having mild or moderate needs have increased pressure on the $50 billion program, which is growing at over 10 percent annually. Major budget decisions are imminent.
