Sydney council warned of illegal prayer hall years before Bondi attack

The Canterbury-Bankstown Council shut down the Al Madina Dawah Centre in January, two years after it was flagged for operating illegally as a prayer hall. The council received multiple complaints, including one in November 2023, but did not take action until after the Bondi terror attack that left 15.
