Lebanon accuses US of giving Israel blanket rights to conduct strikes
Lebanon's deputy prime minister Tarek Mitri said Tuesday the ceasefire is failing because the United States gave Israel blanket rights to conduct strikes "whenever they deem necessary." Mitri told the ABC that Lebanon only learned of the self-defense clause after President Trump announced the initial 10-day truce earlier this month.
