'We can't recreate the past': Oxford Street blow as queer venue shutters

Sydney's iconic Stonewall Hotel closed on Monday after 28 years, entering voluntary administration just weeks after Mardi Gras. Owner Craig Bell described the decision as "sad and difficult," while local figures expressed concern over the ongoing impact of development and lockout laws on Oxford Street's LGBTQIA+ community. The venue will continue at a new sister location in Newtown.
