Four or more drinks may triple liver damage risk for many adults

A new US study found that occasional heavy drinking triples the risk of liver damage for adults with fatty liver disease. Lead author Dr. Brian Lee noted that consuming four or more drinks in one session significantly increases the likelihood of advanced liver scarring compared to spreading the same amount over time. Fatty liver disease affects one in three Australians.
