A 19th Century painting by Raja Ravi Varma, Yashoda and Krishna, set a record for Indian art with a sale price of $17.9 million at a Saffronart auction in Delhi on Wednesday. The buyer, billionaire Cyrus Poonawalla, called it a 'national treasure' and plans to facilitate public viewings.
