Australian government remains silent on reported SAS troop deployment to Middle East

The Australian government has not confirmed reports of approximately 90 SAS troops deployed to the Middle East two weeks ago. Defence Minister Richard Marles stated, 'We don’t comment on the movements of our special forces.' As tensions escalate, the government insists its involvement remains defensive and denies boots on the ground.
