Man pleads guilty to dealing with millions of dollars from illegal tobacco

Malek Alhmedai, a 51-year-old Iraqi national, pleaded guilty in a New South Wales court to dealing with $4 million in cash from illegal tobacco sales in Queensland. Police arrested him in December 2024 after discovering the money hidden in a hire car. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 3, 2025.
