Pride pinning hopes on first-up repeat from versatile veteran
Trainer Joe Pride expects versatile seven-year-old Estadio Mestalla to defy odds in the Hawkesbury Gold Rush on Saturday despite drawing gate 14 and carrying 61 kilograms. The horse won fresh last spring in the Choisir Handicap at 63 kilograms with Adam Hyeronimus aboard, who retains the ride. Pride is preparing Estadio Mestalla for a potential Stradbroke Handicap tilt next month.
