After 55 years, this slice of inner-north history is up for sale

Dante Alessio, who has run Dan’s Hair Cuts in Thornbury for 55 years, will auction the property on April 18 as he prepares for retirement. Known for listening to customers’ life stories, he transformed the salon from a women’s space into a predominantly male client base. Local resident Ken Barbuto expressed sadness, calling it a piece of history.
