Mother knows best as sea otter adopts orphaned pup at California aquarium
Southern sea otter Rey adopted orphaned pup Sunny at California's Aquarium of the Pacific in March. The two-week-old Sunny was found alone on Asilomar beach in February. The pairing is part of a surrogacy program that has rehabilitated and released nine otters since launching in Long Beach in 2024.
