‘Troubled man’ overdosed before alleged smoothie murder
Maree Mavis Crabtree is accused of killing her 26-year-old son Jonathan by hiding prescription oxycodone in a smoothie on July 19, 2017, north of the Gold Coast. A jury heard Jonathan had overdosed on drugs years earlier and suffered mental health issues. Crabtree allegedly discussed putting drugs in his syringe with neighbors before his death.
